This picture is of one of our crew members successfully stopping the leaking cold joint using urethane foam injection. 270 LF of the cold joint is injected along with 8 area drains.
This cold joint is located under the structural swimming pool and planter boxes. The injection points are determined in increments in the perimeter of the pool slab and at one cold joint that runs through the slab along with 8 area drains. The injection process is performed under the supervision of our structural repair specialists to ensure consistent urethane protection. Urethane provides a barrier between grouted shear walls to ensure interior waterproofing and protect the concrete pore structure and rebar. Preventing water damage protects rusting and expansion of the cold joint, which potentially compromises the structural integrity.
